Wicked’s Jonathan Bailey Calls Out ‘Heinous Crime’ With Ariana Grande

Wicked stars Jonathan Bailey and Ariana Grande are in agreement … pineapple does not belong on pizza. In fact, Jonathan feels so strongly about it that he called putting pineapple on pizza a “heinous crime.”

Jonathan Bailey and Ariana Grande don’t like pineapple on pizza

In an NYT Cooking video, on-screen love interests Jonathan and Ariana reunited in the kitchen. The pair prepped pizzas for themselves and commented on which toppings they do – and definitely don’t – like.

“Do you think pineapple belongs on pizza?” a producer asked, to which Jonathan and Ariana responded with a look of equal parts shock and horror. After a painful silence, the pair shook their heads, and Ariana offered a firm: “No.”

“I’m not saying that you’re wrong,” she said. “I’ve just never even let my mind go there.” Ariana went on to say she knows “plenty of Italians who like it,” before adding that she’s “not judging” anyone who does enjoy pineapple on their pizza.

Jonathan, on the flip side, was a little harsher in his response. “It’s a heinous crime,” he said of putting pineapple on a pizza. “It really is.”

In the comments section, viewers had plenty of praise for the duo … and their stance on pizza toppings. “The way they both looked up at 7:16 with such offence was hilarious,” one person said, pointing directly to their reaction to the pineapple on pizza question. “Their response to ‘Do you think pineapple belongs on pizza?’ was CINEMA LOL,” said someone else.

“Ariana and Jonathan seriously need to do more interviews, more cooking shows, and more activities together,” a third viewer added. “Their chemistry is something else. They are literally so very funny and hilarious together.”
