Speaking to her 46 million followers on TikTok, JoJo – who is dating Chris Hughes – shared a video about a health scare she experienced over the holiday weekend.

“Every time that I’ve been dancing the last couple of days, or even just walking, anything, my stomach would really, really hurt,” she said. “I don’t know why, but it passed, and so I was like, ‘Maybe it’s that time of the month. Maybe it’s a cramp’.”

On the morning of November 28th, however, JoJo’s pain returned. With a gig just hours away, the Dance Moms star took a hot bath to alleviate her pain. But this made her feel “100 times worse.”

“I was like, ‘I have to get out immediately’,” the 22-year-old recalled. “I knew I was gonna black out, and I felt like I was gonna throw up.” Her mom, Jessalynn Siwa, then called paramedics, and an ultrasound in the hospital revealed the problem.

“One of my ovaries had a cyst on it that burst and was bleeding into my stomach,” JoJo explained. “So that’s what was causing the excruciating pain.”

Not one to disappoint fans, JoJo still made it to her gig, despite not being completely recovered. That said, the singer said doctors have advised the pain “should stop on its own.”

“The good news is we know what it is, and I think that brought a lot of peace of mind to me,” she said, adding that she has a follow-up appointment scheduled already.

“Ouch! I have had that happen, it was worse pain than labor!!!” one person said in response to JoJo’s video, while another fan commented: “JoJo, please rest. I know you don’t want to let people down, but your health should come first.”
