Miley Cyrus returned to the spotlight on December 1 at the “Avatar: Fire and Ash” world premiere, and fans immediately noticed the engagement ring on her left hand. By the next day, a source confirmed to PEOPLE that she and Maxx Morando are engaged. The moment marked a huge step for the couple, who connected several years ago and have kept their relationship steady and private ever since.
Miley Cyrus’ engagement ring could be worth up to $450,000, claims expert
Clearly, it was not just Miley Cyrus’ black strapless Gucci gown that drew attention at the premiere — her engagement ring stole the spotlight, standing out right away because of its bold design. Francesca Simons, representing jewelry designer Jacquie Aiche, confirmed to PEOPLE that Aiche created the piece. It features a cushion‑cut stone, facing east to west, set in a thick 14‑karat yellow gold band.
Experts claimed the ring held a wide range of value depending on its specifics. As such, Blue Nile’s Daniela Tarantino estimated that it could reach as high as $450,000. Tarantino said, “We believe the ring is roughly a 4-5 carat modified cushion that costs around $300,000 to $450,000.” Meanwhile, Reyne Hirsch, a former Antiques Roadshow appraiser, gave a lower estimate based on color and clarity, stating, “I would suggest a retail value of $150,000-$250,000.”
Additionally, Kristy Cullinane, co-founder of Plum Diamonds, noted that the price could change drastically if the stone is lab-grown, saying the value could drop to $15,000.
Per Deux Moi, Miley Cyrus first wore the engagement ring in mid‑November before showing it more clearly on the red carpet. A source told PEOPLE earlier this year, “She is very happy” with Morando, claiming that they were living together. The insider added, “Miley has changed a lot in the past couple of years. She seems more calm and harmonious.”
The ring marks a new chapter for the pair, and the excitement around its value reflects how closely fans follow Cyrus’ life.
