Thomas Markle is dealing with yet another health scare. According to his son Thomas Jr., he was in imminent danger at the time and was admitted into the intensive care unit at a hospital in the Philippines.
The estranged father of Meghan Markle has gone through numerous health issues over the past few years, including a pair of heart attacks. Thomas Jr. confirmed that his dad fell ill at his home in the Philippines on Tuesday and underwent emergency surgery. The Duchess of Sussex and her father have been estranged since 2018.
Thomas Markle is set to undergo another surgery to remove a blood clot
There is genuine concern about Thomas’ physical condition, and he prepares to go under the knife. Thomas Jr. recently told The Daily Mail, “The doctors said his life was in imminent danger.”
He already underwent three hours of surgery, according to reports, and must now have another operation to remove a blood clot. His daughter blamed his recent health scare on a series of problems over the past few years. Samantha notes that he has been through “two heart attacks, a stroke and an earthquake.” In October, it was initially reported that Thomas was trapped in a hotel in the Philippines following an earthquake. He confirmed, however, that this was not the case.
His condition has caused him to miss some of his kids’ significant events. He was notably absent from his daughter Meghan’s wedding to Prince Harry in 2018. Thomas was recovering from heart surgery at that time. In 2022, Thomas lost his powers of speech temporarily after suffering a massive stroke.
Because of his estrangement, he has never met his two grandchildren, Archie, who is six, and Lilibet, who is four. Thomas and Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, was married from 1979 to 1987, and Meghan was their only child.
Thomas Jr. and Samantha were born when he was married to his first wife, Roslyn Loveless.
