Jason Derulo learned one hard lesson when he was hit with a sexual harassment lawsuit in 2023. The singer and dancer got very candid in a recent interview about the allegations filed against him by Emaza Gibson over two years ago. When asked in a recent interview what he learned from that case without hesitation he said “never work with women.” Jason went on to clarify that he’ll never be alone in a room with a female that he works with again.
Emaza alleged that the Ridin’ Solo singer repeatedly pressured her into drinking and having sex with him, which she says she always refused. In April of last year, a California judge threw out the case.

Although he was cleared of wrongdoing, Jason says his career took a major hit due to the lawsuit against him. Speaking on the show In Depth with Graham Bensinger, the music star discussed how the sexual harassment claim impacted him. “I lost so many brand deals, relationships off of a story that was not even slightly believable.”
Among the supposed accusations against him were that he “sacrificed a goat in a sexual ritual.” He claims that his financial losses from the lawsuit were significant. However, for him the damage to his reputation was far more painful. Although many blogs reported on the lawsuit, he says that barely any mentioned when the case got dismissed.
In addition to his music career, Jason previously served as a guest judge on So You Think You Can Dance. In September, it was announced that Joshua Allen, winner of the fourth season of the show, had died at 36.
Jason added in his interview that it seems distasteful to fight stories about him, saying it feels like a no-win situation. The Whatcha Say singer will be a headliner for The Last Dance World Tour, which begins next year.
