Meghan Markle has shared an estranged relationship with her father, Thomas Markle, since 2018. Since then, the duo has not spoken with each other. However, it was reported that the Duchess of Sussex reached out to her dad following his emergency leg amputation in the Philippines, sparking reunion rumors. But sources have now cleared the air, saying that Meghan has neither spoken to nor plans to visit her father yet.

Meghan Markle and her dad, Thomas Markle, have shared an estranged relationship since 2018, reportedly over staging paparazzi photographs before her wedding to Prince Harry. However, it was recently reported that Meghan has at last contacted her father following his emergency leg amputation in the Philippines, sparking reunion rumors between the father and daughter.
But multiple sources told Rob Shuter that the former actress has “not spoken directly” with her dad and “currently has no plans to visit” him.
“Nothing has changed. Meghan is not planning a trip. Not now,” revealed one insider. Instead, her representatives have contacted Thomas on her behalf. “To be clear, Meghan and her father have NOT spoken or communicated directly yet.”
As per the source, the move comes after Thomas has “burned” Meghan before, so “she’s being cautious.” Even Thomas’ friends said the same that when his daughter’s team reached out, Thomas was “hopeful.” But so far, he has not yet spoken with Meghan or her family.
“There’s contact, but it’s controlled. It’s not a family reunion. Not even close,” added another source. Thomas recently had the procedure done and has reportedly been recovering in intensive care in the Philippines.
Per PEOPLE, revealing about their contact, a hospital source, told The Mail, that, ”If Meghan or anyone connected with her had called here, we would have known. … As far as we are aware, it didn’t happen.”
However, despite their relationship, Thomas confessed to The Mail that he “want to speak to” Meghan. But he is “not sure if these are the right circumstances.”
“I’ve always said I am open to reconciling with my daughter. I have never stopped loving her.” Moreover, he also wants to meet his grandkids, Prince Archie, Princess Lilibet, and Prince Harry, too.
