Why Kylie Jenner Didn’t Have Timothée Chalamet with Her at the Met Gala

When Kylie Jenner stepped out for the Met Gala, her beau, Timothee Chalamet, was also expected to be with her. However, his absence from the fashion industry’s biggest night left many amazed. But the actor has now addressed the issue, revealing the real reason why he was not at the 2025 Met Gala with Jenner.

Timothee Chalamet was cheering for the Knicks during Met Gala

Timothee Chalamet and Kylie Jenner were expected to be seen together on the Met Gala 2025 red carpet. However, the business mogul’s solo appearance left many surprised. But now, the actor is setting the record straight by revealing the real reason he skipped the star-studded event.

During the appearance on “7PM in Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony,” the “Dune” actor talked about being a lifelong Knicks fan. He then revealed that he “had to be locked in” to support the New York Knicks instead of attending the Met Gala with Jenner.

“That Knicks run last year, I think that was the most fun period of my life. Those four months, I’m not even kidding. Just the Garden being electric,” he explained on the podcast.

The 29-year-old American and French actor even shared that he “met Melo [NBA’s Carmelo Anthony] briefly courtside. Seeing Stephon Marbury there, I love Stephon, he’s got a soft spot in my heart.”

And although “the team didn’t go to the heights they wanted, Stephon is New York the way Sebastian Telfair is New York,” felt the star. “Shout out Sebastian Telfair…Seeing all the legends there, J.R., and Brunson, and K.A.T. — and I feel like Brunson is sort of the perfect anti-superstar for New York,” Chalamet said, noting it was an “amazing run.”

At the time, as per Page Six, the “Marty Supreme” star had even shared pictures on his Instagram Story. The photos showed the star watching the game with his friends as the Knicks faced off against the Boston Celtics in the NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals Game 1.
