Callum Turner may not have the makings of a real-life spy, but he’s set to star as James Bond, is recent reports are to be believed. And according to sources, the (supposedly) top secret news has come straight from the horse’s mouth. One insider said that the actor is allegedly being so loose-lipped, that “everyone in his circle is talking about it.”

Could we have our new James Bond? Apparently so, according to insiders close to Callum Turner. The Mail On Sunday reports that the star is so excited about his alleged new role that he’s struggling to keep it to himself. MI6 he is not.
A source told the publication of Callum’s indiscretion: “He’s been blabbing all over town. Callum is the new Bond, it’s been confirmed. Everyone in his circle is talking about it. It’s the worst-kept secret going.”
If the Fantastic Beasts star is the new 007, his fiancée Dua Lipa may be given the job of creating the theme song for the movie. A source revealed: “Dua is over the moon for Callum. She’s been saying she’d love to record the Bond theme.”
The couple recently added fuel to the rumors by holidaying at Goldeneye in Jamaica – the former estate of Bond creator Ian Fleming.
The new Bond movie is being written by Steven Knight, the guy behind Peaky Blinders. It’ll be directed by Denis Villeneuve, who has movies including Dune and Blade Runner 2049 in his portfolio.
Amazon MGM Studios now has creative control over the movie franchise. A source said Jeff Bezos and director Villeneuve wanted someone “young and British” for the lead role. Other rumored contenders for the role include Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Idris Elba, and James Norton.
