A wealthy equity investor is not taking the recent allegations against him lying down. Leon Black is refuting the notion that he had anything to do with financing pedophile Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking empire. Jeffrey was a convicted sex offender who died while in prison awaiting another trial on other charges in 2019.
A lawsuit from one of Jeffrey’s victims claims that Leon paid the late financier $170 million to finance his activities. Leon’s team says that money went to Jeffrey for estate and tax planning. The lawsuit also accuses Bank of America for allegedly ignoring warning signs that something was fishy after Leon sent Jeffrey a large sum of money.
Leon Black’s team says “leakers should be investigated and criminally prosecuted”

Jeffrey’s victim may be pointing the finger at the wrong person. That’s what Leon’s defence team believes, with his lawyer, Susan Estrich, saying the victim’s issues are with the bank. Susan also spoke out against the leaked bank information, telling RadarOnline, “Mr. Black is not a party in this case. The leakers should be investigated and criminally prosecuted.”
Years ago Leon had been accused of being introduced to an underage woman by Jeffrey years ago. The final report from his employer’s investigation at Apollo Global Management concluded that there was no evidence of this.
The Dechert law firm said that the millions paid to Jeffrey ultimately became a savvy investment saving him billions. They say that the conclusion should be proof enough that the money was for tax and estate planning advice and nothing more.
The accusations against Leon came out last week. The victim in the new bombshell allegations claims that the money given to Jeffrey gave him reliable access and the financial resources to recruit, entice, and lure young women and girls to the financier.
Leon, meanwhile, may have allegedly revealed his financial ties to Jeffrey while trying to avoid prison in the US Virgin Islands. That’s where Jeffrey reportedly housed many high-profile clients. Leon entered a settlement agreement to get immunity from sex trafficking charges in the US Virgin Islands in 2023.
