There’s never a dull moment in the world of Married to Medicine. When we last checked in with the group, Dr. Heavenly had just hard-launched a relationship with her newly discovered brother before hosting a family reunion event for the whole cast.
In Married to Medicine Season 12 Episode 7, “Boots on the Ground,” things got political as Heavenly officially launched her campaign for state representative. You’d think that such a big milestone could be a way to bring everyone together, but just like our nation, this friend group is too deeply divided.
What happened in Married to Medicine Season 12 Episode 7?

The positive vibes from last week’s Physicians’ Family Reunion did not stick around for long. In Episode 7, the M2M ladies quickly slipped back into their same old messy ways. From Dr. Heavenly’s campaign kick-off to Angel’s brand event, drama followed the ladies everywhere they went. In the end, Dr. Contessa was left trying to bring the group together. When she’s the voice of reason, that’s how you know things have gone horribly wrong.
Angel finally found a storyline

Angel has been floating around in the background all season long. Other than a few confessional quips, the former Basketball Wives star has been largely just standing around with nothing going on other than being Quad’s friend. That all changed this week. She finally found a storyline!
Throughout the season, she’s been talking to Toya about setting her up with a man — perhaps a friend of Dr. Eugene. With that in mind, Toya felt offended when Angel showed up at the Physicians’ Family Reunion with a guy named Bernard.
Apparently, Angel and Bernard had been talking on and off for years, and when Toya met the guy, she immediately broke the girl code. She turned to Angel and was like, “Didn’t you ask me to introduce you to a man?”
Angel felt like Toya violated the girl code, so she kicked off Episode 7 by telling everyone about it. Meanwhile, Toya was going around complaining that Angel didn’t tell her that Bernard would be at the family reunion. She felt like her matchmaking skills were going to waste.
The whole thing isn’t that deep, but based on the midseason trailer, we haven’t heard the end of it. We’re just glad to finally see Angel in the game.
Dr. Heavenly kicked off her campaign

As everyone knows, Dr. Heavenly has pivoted into the messy world of politics. After teasing her political aspirations with the group earlier this season, Heavenly fully kicked off her campaign in Episode 7.
With Quad, the newly hired campaign manager, by her side, Heavenly hosted a public event to formally launch the campaign. She gave a heartfelt speech about her platform, tearing up as she discussed how her son’s legal troubles helped inspire her.
The entire cast showed up — even Toya. However, she should have just stayed home because the whole time Heavenly was talking, Toya sat there making shady comments under her breath. It’s just a sign of the times, because Heavenly also couldn’t resist making a little jab while she was on stage.
“Everybody has been so supportive,” Heavenly told her supporters. “Except one.”
Dr. Mimi checked Brandi’s temperature

Heavenly and Toya weren’t the only two people throwing shade at this campaign event. New cast member Brandi was also talking shots at Heavenly, which seemed out of nowhere.
“I’ve got to see the person that she is before I endorse somebody,” Brandi said.
Dr. Mimi was surprised to hear this perspective. It’s not like Heavenly and Brandi have had any issues. But Brandi and Toya have started to get closer. Mimi theorized that their new connection had something to do with Brandi’s new attitude.
“Be careful who you are aligning yourself with,” Mimi warned Brandi, who was not receptive to the feedback.
After this shady little exchange, you can add Mimi and Brandi to the list of Season 12 feuds, but the whole thing highlighted the rift that has formed in this group. On one side, you’ve got Toya and Simone. On the other side, there’s Quad and Heavenly. Meanwhile, the new cast members are scrambling to choose sides.
Simone announced a major career update

Throughout Season 12, we’ve watched Dr. Simone grapple with a serious case of burnout. She’s burnt out from her kids and husband needing money. She’s burnt out on Quad and Heavenly bothering her, and on top of all of that, she’s burnt out from her decades of work as an OBGYN.
Simone needed to relieve some of the pressure, and during a sitdown with Dr. Jackie, she announced a major career move. She’s no longer delivering babies. She’s giving up obstetrics.
“I’ve delivered thousands of babies, and now it’s just time for me to drop the OB and lean into GYN,” she explained in her confessional.
Simone isn’t fully retiring, but this is definitely a start. Of course, this isn’t going to magically fix all of the issues she’s having at home, but this could help Simone see the situation at home more clearly. Lord knows we’re rooting for her.
Angel’s event went off the rails
Episode 7 was building up to Angel’s big event — a launch party for her scrub line, Life Angels.
The ladies all came out dressed in metallics, ready to show up for Angel’s business. Unfortunately, all of the lingering tension in the group sent the party into chaos. By the end, nobody was thinking about those curve-hugging scrubs.
The biggest squabble happened when Quad decided to clock Simone on the “VIN number” rumor Heavenly told her last week. It’s such a petty thing, but for some reason, their confrontation escalated to a point that it almost looked like it could get physical. Simone started screaming at a decibel level so loud that they probably heard it in Texas.
As soon as things seemed like they had cooled off, Heavenly and Simone randomly got into it. Heavenly fully let go of her new political persona and delivered a low blow to Simone as she walked out the door.
Heavenly told her, “I’m sorry that you feel the way that you do about your household.”
That comment got Simone to start screaming again. Poor Angel looked around the room and realized that she fully lost control of her party. She tried lecturing Simone on her behavior, but that didn’t go over well either.
Before the party ended, Contessa rallied the troops to let them know that she put a girls’ trip on the calendar. As one of the few people who isn’t knee-deep in conflict right now, she hopes that a little getaway will be just what the group needs to continue their healing journey. It’s never worked in the past, but maybe, just maybe, these things will be different this time.
Married to Medicine airs on Sundays at 9/8c on Bravo. You can stream it the next day on Peacock.
