Jameela Jamil Defends Blake Lively Texts Branding Her ‘Suicide Bomber’

Jameela Jamil has defended her stance as a feminist. This comes after a series of texts, in which she called Blake Lively a “suicide bomber,” came to light this week during the actor’s ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni.

Taking to her Instagram Story on January 22, Jameela defended text messages she sent to Justin’s publicist, Jennifer Abel.

“Guys, feminism means fighting for the political, social and economic equity for women,” she said in a video, per The Hollywood Reporter. “It does not mean you have to like every single woman. It doesn’t mean you have to be friends with every single woman.”

Jameela went on to say that feminism means you “can actually beef with” and “criticize” other women.

“That’s all feminism is. It’s a moral and political stance,” Jameela continued. “It is not a sleepover where we braid each other’s pubes.”

The Good Place star ended her post by saying: “If you are fighting for women’s rights, but you don’t get along with every single woman, it doesn’t make you a bad feminist.”

Although Jameela didn’t directly name Blake in her video, it was posted shortly after her texts with Justin’s PR were exposed. In the text exchange, dated August 2024, Jameela spoke with Jennifer (who is also her own publicist) about Blake’s “tone-deaf” promotion of It Ends With Us.

In her texts, Jennifer called Blake a “nightmare” and expressed that she hated her “so much.” To that, Jameela agreed and said: “She’s a suicide bomber at this point.”

“I’ve never seen such a bizarre villain act before,” she continued, adding that Blake is “over.”
