The Blind Side Actor Quinton Aaron ‘Fighting for His Life’ After Fall

Actor Quinton Aaron is in a fight for his life after suffering a fall. After he lost the use of his legs on his apartment stairs, he was rushed to the hospital.

Quinton is best known as the star of The Blind Side with Sandra Bullock, where he depicted former NFL star Michael Oher. The 2009 film chronicled Michael’s journey as a traumatized homeless, traumatized boy into a first round draft pick. Sandra starred as the mother of his adoptive family.

According to RadarOnline, Quinton has a “severe blood infection” and is reportedly on “life support.” His manager Katrina Fristoe said, although the family appreciates the support from fans and the media, privacy is requested.

“This has been sudden, frightening, and overwhelming for his loved ones. As he fights for his life, his family is facing an immense emotional and financial burden — medical expenses, living costs, and the uncertainty of how long this road to recovery may be.”

His doctors are still running tests to figure out what caused the fall. Quinton’s manager added that an update would be provided when more details are available.

A GoFundMe page has been set up in Quinton’s name that has raised more than $4,000 with 100 total donations at this time.

Quinton has had many health battles over the years. Last March, he was rushed to the hospital after experiencing a fever and coughing up blood. At that time, he reportedly had Type A flu and pneumonia. He also was hospitalized three times in 2020, once with COVID and twice with heart failure. In 2019, the actor revealed he had a serious upper respiratory infection.

He started his weight loss journey after a diabetes diagnosis in 2021. The 6ft 8in actor lost 200 pounds, he reported last October. He announced his weight at 375 pounds, down from a high of 575 pounds. He began taking Ozempic for weight loss in 2024, but stopped due to an allergic reaction. Quinton then said he kept the weight off with intermittent fasting and cutting down on sugar and carbs.
