Charlie Heaton has been compared to fellow Englishman Harry Styles since he shot to fame with Stranger Things back in 2016. Now that the show has recently wrapped up, he is talking about those decade-long doppelgänger jokes.
Charlie spoke to People at the premiere of the HBO Max drama industry season 4. The actor and musician joined the cast of the financial thriller series in its latest season, fresh off the success of Stranger Things and its mammoth final season. There, he admitted that he and Harry had more in common than just their looks.
The Stranger Things star finds the comparisons “funny”
“We’re both from the north of England, we’re about the same age,” Heaton told People on the Industry Season 4 red carpet, when asked about the Harry comparisons.
“I don’t know. There [are] some similarities. Yeah, I get it,” he added. “I’ve never met him, but maybe one day I’ll get to say hi to him.”
New recruit Charlie plays finance journalist Jim Dycker in the latest season of Industry. He filmed his new role for the hit HBO show after Stranger Things season 5 wrapped production. The actor admitted that it was a big thematic departure from the supernatural Netflix series.
“It’s just so different from what I’ve done before, and I think that’s what attracted me,” Charlie said. “I was scared to do it. I didn’t think I could do it, so it was cool to dive into it. He added, “I came into an established cast, and that’s the opposite of what I’m used to. But everyone was really nice, really welcoming.”
Meanwhile, Harry is gearing up for the release of his new album titled Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally. The album is set to drop on March 6. The star is also preparing to take on a series of global concert residencies as part of his new tour, named Together, Together.
