Carson Kressley Reacts To Queer Eye Drama With Karamo Brown

The dust still hasn’t quite settled from all of the Queer Eye drama with Karamo Brown. The rift between him and his cast members cast a dark cloud over their final season, and now, original Fab Five member Carson Kressley has weighed in. He’s baffled to see his Fab Five counterparts fighting like this, especially because the OGs would never.

Supposedly, the rift between Karamo and Fab Five members Antoni Porowski, Tan France, and Jonathan Van Ness began after Karamo’s mom visited the set. She overheard the trio on a hot mic, making negative comments about her son. Karamo responded by unfollowing them on Instagram and dropping out of their press tour.

It’s all very messy, and TMZ recently asked Carson about it. He said he felt “surprised” to see the “awful” falling out with his Fab Five counterparts. He also made it very clear that the original Fab Five never went through anything like this.

“I was surprised because the show doesn’t have that vibe, and we certainly never had that situation when we were doing the show,” Carson admitted.

He added, “We were relentlessly mean to each other but in a good-spirited brotherly way.”

Although the Karamo drama is just one of a few scandals that have plagued the Netflix reboot, Carson believes that the message behind the show remains unaffected. Even if the Fab Five hate each other, he believes the magic of the show “transcends” the drama.

“The legacy of the show is so strong,” Carson noted.

At this point, it’s unclear if we’ll see Netflix’s Fab Five reunite after their messy breakup. Either way, Carson wished them all the best.

“I hope they have a great final season, and I hope they get to work it all out,” Carson said. “Of course, that team, if anybody, can mend fences and have conversations and work it all out.”

Queer Eye is streaming on Netflix.
