Ex-Prince Andrew is gearing up for a significant change in address in the coming weeks. However, according to sources, the shift is far from a dramatic fall from comfort. While headlines have framed the move as an “exile,” insiders insist the reality is far softer. They describe a transition marked by security, privacy, and familiar privileges rather than punishment. In short, Andrew’s lifestyle is expected to remain notably cushioned, even as his public profile continues to shrink.
Ex-Prince Andrew stepping into comfortable ‘exile’ and life of ‘gilded retirement,’ says source
After more than 20 years at Royal Lodge, Andrew is reportedly set to vacate the property this year. A source told RadarOnline that removal vans have already been spotted as staff begin packing for the move. He is said to be relocating temporarily to a residence on the Sandringham Estate before settling into a renovated home known as Marsh Farm.
Despite frequent references to “banishment,” a royal insider claimed the language doesn’t match the reality of Andrew’s circumstances. “People keep using the word exile, but that doesn’t reflect the reality of how Andrew will be living,” the source alleged. “What he is stepping into is effectively a gilded retirement.” According to the insider, his new arrangement is expected to include ongoing security, household assistance, access to outdoor pursuits like golf and horse riding, and expansive royal grounds offering seclusion.
Another source claimed Andrew has approached the move with unexpected calm, provided these essentials are in place. It was previously reported that specialist technicians have allegedly been installing high-speed internet and television services at Marsh Farm. The airspace above the area has also reportedly been expanded to include the property.
While Marsh Farm is said to be more modest than Royal Lodge, the downsizing appears largely symbolic. Sources claimed Andrew’s daily routine is already quiet and inward-focused. It reportedly consists mainly of time spent at home watching television, reading thrillers, playing video games, and following golf. “Moving to Sandringham changes the address on his mail,” one insider alleged, “but it does little to alter the day-to-day rhythm of his life.”
