Sabrina Carpenter is being criticized by PETA following her bird poop incident at the Grammys. For her performance, the 26-year-old pop icon brought a live dove whose name was revealed to be Tina. Carpenter held the bird in her hands, which softly flapped its wings. However, Tina ended up pooping on the musician’s hand.
In a TikTok clip posted by @wigconicc, the “Girl Meets World” alum is seen celebrating with her crew backstage. Suddenly, she exclaims, “it s**t on my hand,” realizing the bird has pooped on her hand. The user stated in the caption, “SABRINA’S REACTION LITERALLY PRICELESS.” While Carpenter enjoyed performing with Tina, the act left a bitter taste in PETA’s mouth. The organization took to Instagram to call her out by sharing a snap of the act.
They wrote in the caption, “Did @sabrinacarpenter really just bring a bird on stage in 2026?!. The Manchild singer is giving childlike behavior. Leave animals out of the #GRAMMYs!” In the picture, they also explained, “Hey Sabrina, bringing a live bird onto the Grammys stage is stupid, slow, useless … and cruel!” The group added, “Bright lights, loud noise, and handling cause fear and distress for a bird that belongs flying free in the open sky.”
Users also shared mixed reactions to the performance in the comment section. However, Tina’s owner, Sara Brown, stood up for Carpenter. She said, “We prepared for this for months. Tina is perfectly fine. Sabrina is a sweetheart and took the rehearsals very seriously.” Brown continued, “Tina is actually invited to Sabs bday party this year which we are considering attending thank you all for your concern.”
