As reported by Us Weekly, a source told them that the couple’s new home is worth $27.4 million. The person further claimed that the retired comedian and the “Scandal” actor “are still planning to live full-time in the U.K.” The source then explained that, however, the couple “will spend a few months of the year in Montecito.”
According to the news outlet, in 2024, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi moved to the countryside in the UK. The retired comedian and host sat for a live conversation with Richard Bacon, the well-known English broadcaster. Per the news outlet, during their conversation, the former comedian expressed that her life in the quiet countryside with her wife is “absolutely beautiful.” She continued, “We’re just not used to seeing this kind of beauty.”
The news outlet further reported that, at the time, Ellen DeGeneres also explained, “The villages and the towns and the architecture — everything you see is charming.” DeGeneres continued, “And it’s just a simpler way of life.”
She further expressed her fondness for the place by saying, “It’s clean. Everything here is just better — the way animals are treated, people are polite.” “I just love it here,” the retired comedian added. After that, she revealed, “We moved here in November, which was not the ideal time.” Ellen DeGeneres continued, “But I saw snow for the first time in my life.” “We love it here,” she also added.
