Bad Bunny (real name: Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio) is just days away from performing the iconic Super Bowl Halftime Show on February 8. But, when asked what kind of sport he likes to play, the Grammy Award-winner had a surprising confession.
Bad Bunny says he’s “very bad” at playing sports
“Well, I’m not good at sports,” Bad Bunny said during the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show Press Conference. “But I do love sports.”
“I come from Puerto Rico, and there’s a huge sports culture there. Baseball, boxing, basketball, a lot of sports,” he continued. The musician went on to say that while he “grew up” watching sports, he’s “very bad” at playing them.
Nonetheless, he’s very excited to play this year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show, revealing that his favorite “combination” is sport and music.
“There’s something that makes me feel passion about that,” he explained. As for what viewers can expect from his much-anticipated performance, Bad Bunny said his priority is delivering “fun.”
“I just want people to have fun,” he said. “It’s gonna be a huge party.”
Bad Bunny went on, “Of course, [there will be] a lot of my culture, but I really don’t want to give any spoilers.” The Grammy Album of the Year winner then commented on concerns about the language his show will be performed in.
“It’s going to be easy, and people only have to worry about dance,” he reassured viewers. “They don’t even have to learn Spanish. It’s better that they learn to dance, but I think there’s no better dance than the one that comes from the heart.”
Bad Bunny will be the first artist ever to perform the halftime show, which is one of the most-watched music events in the world, entirely in Spanish.
