Donald Trump’s Confusing Confession About Bill Clinton

The House Oversight Committee has demanded that Bill Clinton and his wife, Hillary Clinton, sit for a deposition over their alleged relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. But the decision has evoked a surprising reaction from Donald Trump, who said he is bothered by it.

Donald Trump admitted “it bothers” him Bill Clinton is under scrutiny

“It bothers me that somebody is going after Bill Clinton,” the US President told NBC earlier this week. This comes after Republicans demanded that the Clintons testify in front of Congress. Bill has been open about knowing the late financier, but has consistently denied knowledge of his criminal activities and says he cut contact with him two decades ago.

“They asked me a question yesterday at the press conference about Clinton because of the testimony, the Epstein thing,” Trump said of the matter. “They said, ‘Do you think it’s terrible, with the subpoenas and everything?’ And I actually said, ‘It’s a shame you have an ex-president, and you have, you know, the president’s wife and secretary of state.’ And I said, ‘It’s a shame. It is a shame.”

“See, I like Bill Clinton. I still like Bill Clinton,” Trump continued in defense of the former President. “Well, I liked his behavior toward me. I thought he got me. He understood me.”

White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt later backed up Trump’s claim. “The President has respect for the former president,” she told reporters after Trump’s comment. “They shared a good relationship.”

And that’s true. Despite representing opposing political parties (Trump even beat Hillary in the 2016 election), the Trumps and Clintons have maintained somewhat of a friendship. In fact, Bill and Hillary attended Trump’s wedding to Melania Trump at Mar-a-Lago in 2005.
