Andrew Tate’s legal team is urging Donald Trump to intervene as Andrew and his brother, Tristan Tate, remain in federal custody while fighting extradition to the United Kingdom. The renewed request came after the White House said the president would not get involved in their case.

According to Vanity Fair, Andrew’s longtime attorney, Joseph McBride, argued that Trump should support his client. Because of the influencer’s alleged role in helping energize younger conservative voters during the 2024 election.
“Andrew Tate was a material participant in ensuring President Trump’s victory,” McBride claimed. He also warned that failing to back Tate could alienate younger supporters from the Republican Party in future elections.
Despite those comments, the White House indicated Trump does not plan to get involved. When asked whether the president would intervene in the brothers’ case, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt reportedly responded with a simple “no.”
The latest development follows Andrew and Tristan Tate’s arrest in Miami after British authorities filed 38 additional charges, bringing the total number of allegations against the brothers in the U.K. to 59. They remain in a federal jail in Miami as a U.S. judge considers Britain’s extradition request.
McBride also claimed the brothers face significant risks while in custody because of the nature of the allegations against them. Meanwhile, Andrew Tate has continued speaking out about his time behind bars, previously claiming prison conditions have been difficult.
The legal battle has also fueled renewed attention on Andrew Tate’s previously claimed ties to the Trump family. In July 2024, Tate told reporters he had spoken with Barron Trump after his arrest in Romania and said he looked forward to meeting Donald Trump once he was free.
The New York Times later reported that Barron had spoken with Andrew Tate over Zoom and spent time with Tate associate Justin Waller.
