The commercial showed Tiffany Haddish and NBA player Ben Simmons in the role of “ex-communicators.” As per their characters, they provide services where they would deal with their clients’ exes.
In the ad, Nicole played one of the clients and was introduced as the “Ex of a certain NFL player.” “Simmons and Haddish promised me that they could put an end to this whole ‘ex-girlfriend’ fiasco quickly,” she said in the video. The basketball star corrected the influencer, claiming that he said “swiftly,” instead of “quickly.”
This segment seemed to have irked Swift’s fans, who have slammed Nicole on social media. On X (formerly Twitter), several fans have criticized the ad and suggested to Kelce’s ex that she “move on.”
One user wrote, “Second hand embarrassment has reached new heights.” Another supported the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and said, “Bitter ex’s teaming up.” Many labelled the commercial as the “dumbest” and “cringe burn.”
For those unversed, the former pair had an on-and-off relationship for five years before breaking up in 2022. Kelce then started going out with Swift in the following year. Last August, the athlete and the pop star put a ring on their romance as they announced their engagement. The celebrity couple is yet to announce their wedding date.
