A DNA test of a glove found two miles away from Nancy Guthrie’s house has been performed in Florida. However, there is still more testing to be done before a possible suspect can be identified.
Nancy’s disappearance was discovered on Sunday, February 1, after she missed a virtual church service with friends. Arizona’s Pima County Sheriff’s Department has been working with the FBI to find Nancy, the mother of Today show host Savannah Guthrie.

According to TMZ sources, another step is needed to enter the glove’s DNA profile in the CODIS system.
An item first needs testing in the state where it originates for the FBI to use the CODIS system, according to federal law. TMZ sources revealed the glove has already been sent back to Arizona. No one seems to know why the Pima County Sheriff sent the glove to Florida initially when it was required to be tested in Arizona. This is a different glove that was found by authorities than the one photographed by the New York Post.
A type of DNA test, PCR tests reveal results in a day. Experts say the process is quick, with CODIS results available the next day or sooner. The CODIS system includes close to 27 million DNA profiles.
NewsNation reported that gun shops in the Tucson region received 40 names from law enforcement. Authorities are seeing if anyone purchased a similar gun to the one seen in the doorbell camera video of Nancy’s alleged abductor. The gun was visible in the holster of the man in the video. TMZ reported that law enforcement is able to identify the holster type and the 40 people who purchased it.
TMZ also clarified that kidnappers’ demand letters for ransom were forwarded to the FBI. There is currently a $100,000 reward being offered for information leading to Nancy’s abductors.
