Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor‘s home is being searched by authorities, following his arrest on February 19. The former Prince Andrew was arrested today, on his 66th birthday, and is currently in custody, on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
Thames Valley Police confirmed the arrest of a man in his 60s at Sandringham Estate, but didn’t name him for legal reasons. However, King Charles released a statement regarding his brother’s arrest. The monarch said the police have “our full and wholehearted support and co-operation,” adding that “the law must take its course.”
Searches were happening Berkshire and Norfolk

Police cars were seen arriving at Royal Lodge, Andrew’s longtime home in Windsor, Berkshire. The former prince was evicted from the home in early February, as an investigation over his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein continued. King Charles reportedly ordered his brother to surrender the lease for the property earlier this month. The lease guaranteed Andrew
Additionally, it was confirmed that Wood Farm, the Sandringham Estate property in Norfolk, is being searched by the police. The BBC reported that both properties were being searched following the arrest. Wood Farm is Andrew’s current, but temporary, residence. Marsh Farm, also on Sandringham Estate, however, is said to be his planned permanent residence. The property is currently being renovated, but his arrest may change these plans.
Andrew stepped back from royal duties in November 2019, during the early stages of the Epstein investigation. The move followed a now-infamous BBC Newsnight interview, where Andrew denied wrongdoing. One memorable gaffe was when Andrew claimed he could not sweat, after Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre recalled him being “sweaty” during their meeting.
Andrew’s departure was made just days after the disastrous TV special aired. In October last year, as the investigation continued, the King stripped Andrew of his royal titles. From then, he was formally known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
