Princess Eugenie is seemingly not planning to stay out of sight. Just days after her father, former Prince Andrew, was arrested, the 35-year-old royal stepped out in West London. Photographers saw her at Hagen Espresso Bar in Notting Hill on Tuesday, February 24, where she picked up coffee for herself and her husband, Jack Brooksbank.
Princess Eugenie looked ‘happy and at ease’ on first public outing after dad’s arrest, per source
According to a source who observed the outing, Eugenie appeared entirely comfortable. “She was chatting away with someone she knows and seemed very relaxed,” the insider shared. “It was all very casual.” Far from looking tense or guarded, Eugenie reportedly spent time laughing and joking during the visit. “She looked happy and at ease — not like someone trying to hide,” the source added.
Eugenie’s appearance marks her first public sighting since news of her father’s legal troubles broke. Other senior members of the royal family have continued their scheduled engagements in recent days. Rather than keeping a low profile, she stepped out in broad daylight in one of London’s busiest neighborhoods, engaging in conversation and going about her routine.
Eugenie and her older sister, Princess Beatrice, have mostly stayed out of the spotlight as attention grows around their parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. A source recently told PEOPLE that the sisters are focusing on their own families. “They’re trying to stay away from it. They have young children, and this is their grandfather — their focus is on protecting their own children from this.”
Eugenie married Jack Brooksbank in 2018, and they have two sons, August, 5, and Ernest, 2. Meanwhile, Beatrice married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in 2020. They have two daughters, Sienna, 4, and Athena, 1. Mapelli Mozzi also has a 9-year-old son, Christopher Woolf, from a previous relationship.
Andrew and his ex-wife have faced quick consequences since the U.S. Department of Justice started releasing the Epstein files last year. King Charles removed Andrew’s royal titles, and the couple had to leave their longtime home, Royal Lodge in Windsor. Andrew recently moved into Wood Farm near the King’s Sandringham estate.
