Advice from fellow actors is not something Timothée Chalamet always takes kindly. The Golden Globe Award winner recently appeared at a town hall event with his former on-screen father, Matthew McConaughey.
The Marty Supreme star and Oscar-winning actor discussed what the former believed was a harsh judgment about him on a previous project. While not calling anyone out by name, Timothée deemed this person a “punk” actor. He claims that they tried to shame his training, alleging they were offering guidance.

Sometimes, advice from another actor can be a way to exude power over another. That’s the claim being made by Timothée. At the CNN & Variety Town Hall event, he said that some of those people are “thrilled by the act of giving you advice.” The reality for him, however, is that “they’re flexing on you so hard.”
The man up for Best Actor at the upcoming Academy Awards told Matthew that he was grateful that he never acted that way towards him. The two worked together on the film Interstellar.
Since 2023, Timothée has been dating Kylie Jenner. In late December, though, it was suggested that their relationship is in trouble. Reports suggest that he began seeing her for attention and to boost his fame.
According to Timothée, the person who called him out wanted to know which acting conservatory he’d attended. Timothée didn’t go to one. As a result, the other person allegedly told him that he was not a trained actor. Most of Timothée’s acting training came at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts. He briefly went to college before dropping out to focus on his acting.
Timothée is considered a favorite to take home his first golden statuette for Best Actor in Marty Supreme on March 15th.
