We’ve reached the penultimate episode of Married to Medicine Season 12, and yes, they’re still on a cast trip. This is six episodes in a row, if anyone else is keeping track.
Last week, the group trip to Jamaica started to go south when Dr. Damon and Dr. Eugene locked horns over the Med Gala. No one can agree on how to proceed with this unnecessarily controversial fundraiser, and in Married to Medicine Season 12 Episode 13, “Couples Therapy and Paradise Problems,” the drama came to a head.
What happened in Married to Medicine Season 12 Episode 13?

The couples trip to Jamaica came to a close in the latest episode of Married to Medicine, and the ladies were pretty well behaved. Instead, it was the husbands who were acting up. Two of them were going back and forth over the Med Gala, with a third husband vowing not to spend a dime on the event. Plus, another husband made a shocking claim about Quad’s IVF journey, just in time for them to all head back to Atlanta. Keep reading for all of the tea on M2M Season 12 Episode 13.
The husbands can’t agree on the Med Gala
When we last left off, Eugene and Damon were sitting beachside, going back and forth over the Med Gala. At this point, it’s becoming the most controversial fundraiser in Atlanta.
Eugene was having some big feelings because the other women wanted to teach Toya a lesson by putting her in charge of this year’s event. That lesson isn’t being learned because Eugene can’t stand to watch Toya struggle.
Eugene made it clear that he’s especially frustrated with Heavenly, who refuses to give Toya an ounce of support for this event. Damon told Eugene that they should just move on. The Med Gala is just a few days away anyway, so why not just sweep this under the rug? Meanwhile, Eugene said that the drama had him questioning his friendship with Damon.
Eugene and Damon weren’t the only people having issues with this year’s event. Steve told the group that they wouldn’t be contributing because Dr. Mimi felt excluded, even though it’s her second year in the group. Steve said they’d show up to the gala, but they definitely weren’t forking over any cash. Based on the season finale trailer, that decision is going to come back to haunt them in the very near future.
Did King propose to Quad?

While the husbands bickered about the Med Gala, Quad dropped a huge revelation about her relationship with King. Over the last few episodes, we’ve watched their relationship unravel, but in Episode 13, Quad shared a major piece of the story.
The ladies were discussing their relationships, and Quad talked about her biggest challenge with King. She said he wanted her to “cater” to him, just like the Destiny’s Child song. It hasn’t been happening, which prompted a question from Dr. Heavenly.
She asked, “Why [would] he get all the wife benefits and you ain’t his f*cking wife?”
“I’m not even pressed to be a wife right now,” Quad replied. “The man has asked me before to marry him. I thought it was BS.”
In Quad’s confessional, she shed more light on this bombshell. She explained how King asked her to go to the courthouse and make their relationship official. She didn’t want to do it that way. Miss Quad wasn’t going to settle for a measly courthouse wedding, but it sounds like King perceived her hesitation as a rejection.
“I really wasn’t rejecting him,” Quad explained. “I really just wanted more of a plan for our lives, but the energy after, he just kind of shut down on me.”
Of course, we know in real life that these two have already gone their separate ways. With each episode of Season 12, it becomes clearer and clearer why that is.
When couples therapy meets bible study

For the last night of the trip, Eugene and Toya planned a “couples therapy” activity with a slight twist. The men and women splintered into two groups. The guys worked with a counselor from the island. The ladies were stuck with Mimi.
With the help of the counselor, the guys did have some positive discussions about their emotions, but things took an unexpected and theological turn when Curtis started rambling to King about his relationship with God and Quad.
Curtis told King that according to the Bible, a woman and a man should marry before living together and starting a family. Since Quad and King haven’t been following that order of operations, Curtis felt like they weren’t following God. He suggested that it could be a reason that their IVF attempts have failed. It certainly takes some audacity to drop a comment like that.
Of course, that didn’t land well for King. He reminded Curtis that he hasn’t lived a life that’s totally in line with the bible either. Does Hilton Head, South Carolina, ring a bell?
Eugene and Damon hugged it out

The therapist’s time with the husbands wasn’t all in vain because he did help facilitate a forward-moving conversation between Damon and Eugene. It only took the entire trip, but these two have finally squashed their beef.
It happened when Eugene reitarted for the thousandth time how he felt like Toya was being disrespected in the Med Gala planning process. Damon felt the same way, suggesting that Toya and Eugene may have been talking about Damon Jr’s arrest.
They’re both saying the same thing. They don’t want their wives and families discussed in a negative light, even though that’s the entire basis of this show.
The two realized that they were on the same page about how to move forward and hugged it out. It was sweet, and as long as their wives don’t drag them back into the mess, they should be all set to move forward with respect and kindness. If anything, this truce will at least get them through this god-forsaken Med Gala.
Quad and King’s relationship is on life support
The therapy session marked the end of the Jamaica trip, but back in Atlanta, King and Quad debriefed about everything that went down.
Quad heard what Curtis said about their failed IVF attempts, and apparently, Jackie had been blowing up her phone with texts trying to make it right. An apology is definitely necessary here because Curtis crossed a line. It was especially inappropriate, given that Quad hired Jackie to help with the IVF process.
Unfortunately, Curtis and his god-fearing comments were just one of the many problems impacting these two. Their relationship is hanging on by a thread.
King told Quad that she seemed “ungrateful” for his support throughout the IVF journey, and apparently, their last trip to Ghana wasn’t the most pleasant experience for either of them.
The two of them started arguing, right in front of the cameras. Quad said that King was acting “sassy” towards her. That comment obviously didn’t land, either.
It’s wild how these two have gone from being inseparable to barely being able to stand each other in just the matter of a year. Watching them this season has felt like witnessing a slow-motion car accident. With next week’s finale, we’ll be one step closer to not having to hear about it anymore.
Married to Medicine continues next Sunday on Bravo at 9/8c. It streams on Peacock.
