Even long, important meetings can make the President sleepy. Donald Trump admitted to an audience in Hebron, Kentucky, on Wednesday to nearly “falling asleep” while discussions were taking place about the war in Iran.
The President’s decision to declare war on the Middle Eastern nation has drawn plenty of criticism while dividing many Americans. Throughout his second term in the White House, Donald’s mental state has often been questioned, with some concerned he’s not fit to run the country. Some videos suggest he’s drifted off and nearly fallen asleep during some past press conferences.
The President’s war on Iran continues
Trump’s recent admission will not come as a big surprise to many journalists. Among them, New York Times columnist Katie Rogers wrote a piece about Donald’s second term as President titled Shorter Days: Signs of Fatigue: Trump Faces Realities of Aging in Office. The article reports that he reportedly makes fewer official appearances. It adds that many of his events reportedly take place a couple of hours later than during his first term in the White House. She chalks this up to fatigue. The 79-year-old President blasted the column, calling Katie “ugly.”
Donald quickly pivoted from that to all the great work he believes is happening in the Iranian war Wednesday. He calls it Operation Epic Fury. Donald says that the name is only good when successful, adding, “We’ve won.”
Trump told the crowd that around 20 names had been tossed around for this operation. He says many were boring, making him sleepy. The name Epic Fury, though, immediately captured his attention.
His attacks led the Iranian Sports Minister to declare that the national football team cannot compete at the upcoming World Cup. The 2026 tournament takes place this summer in Canada, the United States and Mexico.
Earlier this week, Trump made some confusing remarks, saying the war is both complete and just beginning.
