What happens after the pizzazz fades is now stealing just as much attention as the awards, the red carpet, and, of course, the celebrity sass itself, all thanks to a social media post. The Oscars 2026 may have delivered its usual dose of cinematic brilliance and couture perfection, but a viral post-ceremony photo has flipped the narrative.
Showing a surprisingly chaotic aftermath inside the Dolby Theatre, the image has left the internet unimpressed, with many calling out celebrities for the unexpected “mess” behind, even on what is supposed to be Hollywood’s most polished and distinguished night, according to Dexerto.
Internet slams celebs at Oscars 2026 after post-ceremony photo goes viral
Matt Neglia, the editor-in-chief and host of Next Best Picture, took to X (formerly Twitter) after the Oscars Awards 2026 ceremony and posted a picture of the Dolby Theatre, which was left in a mess. This was posted with the caption, “Clean up on aisle ALL #Oscars.” With cardboard boxes and plastic water bottles left thrown everywhere on the floor and beyond, this viral picture ended up getting a lot of attention.
In fact, this post has over 7M views, 1.5K reshares, 8.8K likes, and even over 582 comments, as of the time of writing. One of them even posted saying, “Save the mountains, keep them clean, blah blah blah… but look at the mess they leave. Nobody’s buying it anymore. As the saying goes: A lion is revealed by where it lies.” Meanwhile, another post called this a “classic example” of the fact that money can’t buy class.
Meanwhile, a few viewers also chose to add some humour to the mix while slamming the celebrity attendees with some hilarious posts. In fact, one post even said, “Collect those DNA.. It’ll be worth something. Just gotta identify which actor it belongs to lol.” Another user also agreed by saying, “Some fruitloop will definitely try to sell it.” People were definitely outraged by how celebrities seem to just expect someone else to do their job and clean up after them.
