Natasha Lyonne Gives Positive Health Update After Relapse

Natasha Lyonne is on the mend. The Orange Is the New Black alum has faced her share of issues with substance abuse and health problems over the years. Kicking her numerous bad habits has been a chore for the actress. Among them is smoking, something she says she quit in 2023 before going back to it a year later.

That is not the only thing she has struggled to control. The actress from the American Pie movies admitted in January that she had gone through a relapse and was no longer sober. This week, she shared some more news about her recovery.

Natasha Lyonne “is doing a whole lot better”

There is far more encouraging news about Natasha these days. The 46-year-old gave fans an update on how she is doing on Thursday. On her X account, Natasha says that she “is doing a whole lot better & back on her feet.” She went on to thank fans for supporting her throughout what has surely been a dark couple of months.

News of her relapse in January came with an important message to fans that recovery is a lifelong process. Natasha assured people who may be going through addiction issues that they are not alone.

Her comedy-drama Poker Face was cancelled by Peacock in November. Despite that, Natasha said that she and her producer were shopping a new version of that program starring Peter Dinklage. Natasha’s relapse admission in January came after she’d had a decade of sobriety. For her work on Poker Face, Natasha was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Television Series Musical or Comedy in 2024.

Last year, she was a part of several films, including voicing Mama Poot in Smurfs. She also voiced the character of Doom/Susan in The Bad Guys 2. Her upcoming movies, Roommates and Klara and the Sun, are currently in post-production.
