Singer Toni Braxton’s set was cut short last night in Minneapolis.
The performer is currently in the middle of a tour with New Edition and Boyz II Men. The New Edition Way Tour was appearing at the Minneapolis Target Center on March 22. Apparently, Toni’s portion of the show was shorter than planned.

The Un-Break My Heart artist addressed the situation on her Instagram Stories this morning. “My loves, I am so sorry I wasn’t able to finish the show last night,” she wrote. “I had an unexpected personal emergency and had no choice but to step away.”
“You deserved my everything, and I hate that I couldn’t give it to you,” she added. “I feel your love from here. Thank you for understanding.”
The New Edition Way Tour features the Grammy winner performing mini-sets alongside the two groups, normally delivering nine songs. Though People reached out to reps for the tour, no explanation was offered. It remains unclear what was actually cut from the performance.
Though she didn’t offer any reason for the abbreviated show, Toni has had her share of health problems in recent years. She’s been open about the difficulty of touring while living with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Additionally, she underwent emergency heart surgery in 2022. She’s also admitted to feeling “anxiety” due to her medical condition.
“I’ve been feeling okay, [except for] the anxiety,” she admitted in 2024, prior to her Vegas residency with Cedric the Entertainer. “My doctor said I’m ready to go … Everything’s good, but there is a little anxiety performing and having that health scare. But the man upstairs said it’s going to be okay, so I know I’m going to be alright.”
The mom of two added, “I just try to pace it … If I feel like I’m overdoing it, I know to take a break. Sometimes it’s hard to do that. You don’t recognize when you’re being stressed a little bit or overdoing it, so I just know to pace it and then everything’s fine.”
