NBA’s Derrick White Says He’s a ‘Non-Moon Landing Guy’

Boston Celtics star Derrick White recently discussed his moon landing conversation with his head coach, Joe Mazzulla, and the NBA player is clearly skeptical about the historic event. He revealed that when he was lifting weights at the gym, Mazzulla asked him if he believed that they landed on the moon, referring to the Apollo 11 space mission in 1969. Notably, White stated he doesn’t believe it happened. The space mission was led by Neil Armstrong, alongside command module pilot Michael Collins and lunar module pilot Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin.

Derrick White talks about moon landing

During his appearance on the White Noise podcast, White recalled a discussion about the moon landing he had with head coach Mazzulla at the gym. Describing their conversation, he said, “He’s on the treadmill, and I’m lifting, and he just turned around, and he’s like, ‘Do you believe we landed on the moon?” He responded that he doesn’t think that they ever landed on the moon, followed by him claiming that he’s a “non-moon landing guy.”

White further displayed a bit of uncertainty before continuing to admit that the moon landing might not have happened. He said, “We probably did, but I don’t think we did. I don’t know. I don’t really know. But I don’t think we did.” Furthermore, he added that he does have a few conspiracy theories in mind, but didn’t think it was the right time to bring those up.

The Boston Celtics player also claimed that he doesn’t consider himself a conspiracy theorist, as he was earlier called by Mazzula. He also doesn’t consider himself an extreme theorist either.

However, he admitted that he’s into conspiracy theories, as he perceives them as interesting and also likes to give his contrary opinions. “Conspiracy theories are like, there’s two big arguments. You can kind of pick and choose what side you want to be on, and you can say whatever you want,” he explained. He also revealed that he and his head coach usually are on a similar side of the argument.
