In her new book, journalist Susan Page states that Donald Trump was “dazzled” by Queen Elizabeth. The author claims that Trump was so in awe of the late queen, that she brought him to a rare moment of self-reflection.
Allegedly, Trump was impressed by the monarch’s ability to avoid controversy. When he pestered her to name her favorite president, she deflected by saying they were “all so good.”
“I said to myself, ‘How genius is this?'” Trump told Susan. “I couldn’t get her to say a bad thing about anybody. She was amazing, actually. And not for any reason other than I don’t think she wanted to create controversy. It was unnecessary.”

In The Queen and Her Presidents: The Hidden Hand That Shaped History, Susan claims that Trump was personally offended on her behalf. He felt that her grandson Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle didn’t treat the queen with the respect she deserved.
Despite the queen’s refusal to rank the presidents, Trump thought they had “great chemistry” together. He actually believed that he was secretly her favorite.
Pushing her to reveal who was her favorite, he allegedly asked, “Did you like Ronald Reagan the best?”
“Oh, yes, I liked him very much,” Her Majesty admitted. “But they were all good.”
In his interview with Susan, Trump confessed that the late queen, who died in 2022, was “sort of [his] opposite.”
“I hate to say this because it’s very disparaging to myself,” Trump told the author. “She was sort of the opposite of me: she didn’t mix it up. She was there for so many decades, and she literally never made a mistake, if you think about it. I mean, everyone was making mistakes around her, but she never made a mistake.”
“For Trump, she prompted a rare moment of self-reflection,” Susan concluded.
