The more awards he receives, the less respect Donald Trump seems to get. House Speaker Mike Johnson wanted to recognize him for his contributions by creating a special trophy in his honor. At a National Republican Congressional Committee fundraiser on Wednesday, Mike announced the America First Award.
He says the award will be handed out annually from now on, with Donald as the first recipient. It is not the first time Trump has gotten an award created during his second term in office. That has many people scratching their heads in laughter.
President Trump’s trophy sparked ridicule online
It isn’t fake news, as Donald often says, but this new trophy is being seen as phony by many. MS Now host Jen Psaki couldn’t hold back her emotions when word came down about this award. On her Bluesky account, she called it a “participation trophy.” Jen adds that they are creating the award for Trump “to make sure he feels good about himself.”
Online, many people are echoing Jen’s sentiments, calling the award embarrassing, while Mike is being labelled as a butt kisser. Some believe those around Donald are spoiling him as if he were a child.
Donald is raking in the hardware. He was previously awarded the first FIFA Peace Prize, while earlier this year, he was crowned the Undisputed Champion of Beautiful Clean Coal. While the President didn’t officially receive the Nobel Peace Prize, he had it gifted to him previously. Donald proudly accepted the award from María Corina Machado. Venezuela’s opposition leader said she believes the President deserved it.
Trump has rarely been humble about the achievements he believes he has had while in office. Among the things he’s bragged about are allegedly stopping multiple wars. His actions saw Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro captured earlier this year.
