One of Dr. Jill Biden’s Secret Service agents is in a Philadelphia hospital following a scary incident. The person shot himself in the leg by accident.
The special agent was on duty at the time. The frightening moment occurred on Friday morning at the Philadelphia International Airport. The wounded agent was apparently on a protective assignment when his firearm inadvertently went off.
One of the former First Lady’s protection accidentally injured himself

Jill is back in the news, but once again it is through no fault of her own. Secret Service spokesperson Nate Herring told US Weekly today that the agent in question “suffered a non-life-threatening injury.” Nate adds that the wife of former President Joe Biden “was not present at the time of the incident.” He says the wounded agent is in stable condition in the hospital, receiving treatment.
A representative for the Philadelphia Police Department says the agent was in an unmarked Chevrolet SUV at the time of the accident. They have held the scene and are investigating the incident.
Lately, Jill’s name has been making headlines, but only because of her associations. Her ex-husband, Bill Stevenson, is in some hot water at the moment. Bill’s wife, Linda, was found dead at their home in December. This occurred following an alleged case of domestic abuse. Bill is currently facing a murder charge in her death.
Before Friday’s accidental shooting, Jill was in New York City attending the Off-Broadway show Public Charge. All former Presidents and their spouses get lifelong protection from the Secret Service. This was a bill enacted in 2013, when Joe was Vice President under Barack Obama.
The incident reportedly did not affect Jill’s travel plans.
