We’ve reached the end of Married to Medicine Season 12, but before turning the page on the latest chapter of Bravo’s beloved medical drama, there was a friendship that needed saving and a Med Gala that needed discussing.

During the first part of the reunion, we saw Dr. Simone give Dr. Jackie a tearful ultimatum about their friendship while Steve sat backstage lighting up Dr. Eugene over the Med Gala. They’ve packed a lot of drama into this two-parter, and in Married to Medicine Season 12 Episode 16, “Reunion Part 2,” Andy had to help them work through it all.

The two-part reunion concluded with Simone finally resolving her issues with Jackie. It turns out, it was never that deep, but when it comes to Dr. Heavenly? Totally different story. On top of that drama, the husbands joined Andy on stage. In what might be a Married to Med first, the husbands had just as much drama to work through as their wives. In the end, you start to get an idea of where things might be headed for Season 13.

Simone and Jackie hugged it out

Last week’s episode ended with Simone seemingly ready to throw in the towel on her friendship with Jackie. That turned out to be a huge misdirect. She wasn’t even talking about Jackie. She was talking about Dr. Heavenly. Blame it on the edit.

Through tears and smudged makeup, Simone said she would “absolutely” forgive Jackie if she would just admit that Heavenly exaggerated about the “push” at Angel’s party. Naturally, Jackie conceded to her melodramatic friend and gave her the reassurance that she so desperately needed.

“You did not push her,” Jackie assured Simone.

With that, the friendship was saved. Easy enough, right? Simone even made the deal by re-following Jackie on Instagram. We should have known that this friendship was too solid to let such a petty storyline ruin things.

Dr. Eugene was firmly planted in the hot seat

M2M is the only show on Bravo that gives a full reunion segment with just the husbands. It’s what sets this series apart from the others, and it’s usually a lighthearted break from the ladies fighting. That certainly wasn’t the case this time.

After a season full of Toya stirring the pot, the guys needed Eugene to take a little bit of accountability for her behavior. Curtis wanted an apology for the way Toya went on Watch What Happens Live and accused him of getting handsy with other castmates. That didn’t happen.

Steve wanted an apology for Eugene’s ambush of him and Dr. Mimi at the Med Gala. That didn’t happen. The more Eugene deflected, the angrier Steve seemed to get. Eventually, he unleashed a nasty little read that will go down in the M2M history books.

Steve said, “I see you. I see what you do. I see what you are, and I’m going to hold you accountable for the person that you are. You’re Eugene Bush.”

Dr. Damon weighed in on his wife’s behavior

Eugene wasn’t the only husband in the hot seat. Dr. Damon also had a handful of questions coming his way. He answered them in that calm, reassuring voice that is the polar opposite of his wife’s.

For starters, Damon addressed the fact that he withheld information about their son’s arrest from his wife. It’s a decision that he and Heavenly both stand by. He said he did everything he could to help his son, who they described as having a mental health emergency.

Heavenly and Damon reached out to Mimi for her psychiatric expertise, but it sounds like things with Damon Jr. are still a work in progress.

Damon also got taken to task for some of the things his wife says, which is something he’s used to at this point. Heavenly’s mouth is lethal, and if Eugene has to be held accountable for the things Toya says, Damon has to be held accountable, too. The only difference is that Damon can actually admit when things go too far.

According to Damon, he has privately talked to Heavenly about her occasionally outrageous behavior. He said he warned her that talking about how dissing the husbands has a domino effect on the guys’ group.

Andy asked if those conversations were yielding any positive results. Damon didn’t seem super confident about that. That’s another work in progress.

“She’s gotten better,” he claimed hesitantly.

The last word on the Med Gala

Most of the drama this year centered around the Med Gala, and with the entire cast on stage, Andy tried to help them work through it. It went absolutely nowhere. All of this drama for an event that raised $10,000.

Of course, Steve had the most to say, insisting that he and Mimi were “targeted” by Eugene and Toya. Was it really necessary for him to rush them at the entrance of the Med Gala and hound them over a $150 ticket? Even Contessa admitted that it was strange how Eugene and Toya seemed to center the Med Gala around themselves.

Despite the criticism, Eugene and Toya refused to budge. They felt like their actions at the Med Gala were justified. Simone backed them up, too, and if anything, next year’s gala will probably be even stricter.

Andy was “ready to move on” and dismissed the guys from the stage before they made any real progress. Steve turned around and kept the fight going when they got backstage. He literally couldn’t stop dragging Eugene. He had a few more reads he wanted to fire off.

“Your wife has mentioned me taking my shirt off. Your wife has mentioned I’m attractive. I know that makes you insecure,” Steve taunted. “I know that makes you feel less than, but you don’t single me out because of it.”

Eugene insisted that Steve wasn’t being singled out at the Med Gala. He then stormed off and accused the former NFL player of having a “temper tantrum.” Steve hit back and called him passive-aggressive.

Steve said, “You’re insecure. You got a little man complex.”

Simone and Heavenly still aren’t on the same page

Despite all of the bumps in the road, the Married to Medicine cast are skilled professionals both in the medical field and reality TV. They know they have to resolve their conflict so they can come back for another season and do it all over again. Simone seemed to forget about that part of the game.

At the end of the Season 12 reunion, Simone took a moment to remind everyone that she still felt pissed off at Heavenly. Even Andy rolled his eyes, but it’s a grudge she isn’t willing to let go of. It’s as if the truce they made during the Florida trip never happened.

This Simone and Heavenly feud could definitely fuel Season 13, along with this lingering animosity between the Sanders and Bush-Harris families. However, there is a chance that we won’t see this entire cast if/when Married to Medicine returns.

If Heavenly wins her upcoming election, she’ll have to exit Married to Medicine and focus on her duties in Washington, DC. With that in mind, Toya and Simone should cast their votes wisely when the election rolls around. A vote for Heavenly could be their ticket to finally getting her off the show.

Married to Medicine is streaming on Peacock.
