Survivor 50 Edits Reportedly Being Made After Zac Brown Backlash

Season 50 of Survivor is a celebration for the fans. The title of this season is, after all, In the Hands of the Fans. However, singer and super fan Zac Brown managed to take up a significant chunk of a recent episode. This odd decision left some Survivor fans feeling salty.

In addition, when Angelina Keeley’s torch was snuffed, she called out editors. She claimed that the show wasn’t featuring the female competitors enough. “I think they’re doing a really poor job this season so far of displaying female stories and telling female stories,” Angelina stated. I think she has a point.

Meanwhile, the reaction to celebrity cameos on Season 50 has been mixed. During a recent episode, Zac played music for the winning Kalo tribe and prepared fish that he caught himself. However, a source told The U.S. Sun that production is editing some upcoming Survivor episodes.

“Production has seen the backlash, and they stand by their decisions made to make this a superstar, supersized season. That being said, they don’t want to alienate the fanbase,” the insider claimed. “They are hearing everyone out.”

The source continued, “And did decide that they would cut down some of the future cameo edits, mostly Mr. Beast. It’s pretty last-minute to make cuts, but not too late.” The reaction to Zac’s appearance was swift. Some fans felt that he overshadowed the players and cost them precious screen time.

“They’re trying to strike a balance. The idea was to make this season feel huge, but they’re realizing they may have pushed it too far,” the insider claimed. Meanwhile, singer Billie Eilish has her own Boomerang Idol, and late-night host Jimmy Fallon is also expected to impact the game in some way.

Survivor continues Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on CBS and is available to stream.
