For those unversed, Rossdale and the singer share three sons — Kingston, 19, Zuma, 17, and Apollo, 12. The former couple was married from 2002 to 2016, and Stefani later married Blake Shelton in 2021.

Gwen Stefani’s ex Gavin Rossdale compares their co-parenting relationship to ‘two-lane highway’

Gwen Stefani’s ex Gavin Rossdale explained how co-parenting worked for him. In an interview with Fox News Digital, he mentioned that the former couple has been raising their children, following a “two-lane highway” theory. It meant that their techniques or paths “don’t ever seem to merge.”

“Probably doing the best she can, and I’m doing the best I can. And the kids are growing up, so I’m a proud proponent of the system. It’s fine,” Rossdale added.

Aside from sharing their co-parenting method, the guitarist spoke about how he would want his children to be raised. “Making them likable. I think that if you’ve got kids that are unlikable, they’ve got a tough life ahead, you know,” he mentioned. As per the 60-year-old, he would want his boys to be “mindful” and “considerate of other people.”

Furthermore, Rossdale said that he would want his kids to learn by example. Hence, he has always tried to “do my best in my life.” “Just try to show by example with my kids, consistent friends, consistent people around, and a sort of a steady approach to life,” Rossdale added.

Meanwhile, the musician and Stefani’s children, Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo, also have a loving stepfather. Blake Shelton has talked about his bond with his wife’s kids in multiple interviews.
