Donald Trump’s missteps are not enough for some to switch political allegiances. The President has been under intense scrutiny in his second term, prompting some to wonder whether it could hurt the next Republican candidate in 2028.
For Megyn Kelly, nothing has changed on that front for her. On her podcast this week, she says that Donald “could drop a nuke and I’d still vote Republican over Democrat.” The political commentator has previously voted for both major parties in the United States.
Megyn Kelly made a stunning political confession
There are no strong Democrats running for President in 2028. At least not good enough to convince Megyn to swap back to them for now. The conservative host has publicly opposed the President’s actions in Iran. Even so, she does not believe it’d be any better with the Democrats in power. She made a bold statement about that party, saying, “What they want to do is nuke our own country.” Megyn believes this would be done with border security not nearly as tight, in her opinion, under the Democrats.
Megyn’s comments come at a time when tensions are very high, and a lot of heat is surrounding Donald. While she supported the real estate mogul’s 2024 campaign, Megyn has heavily criticized his administration’s foreign policy decisions. She has also blasted the government for Operation Epic Fury in Iran.
In Donald’s second term, she has had a go at Republicans for their lack of diplomacy with foreign countries. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham is among those in her crosshairs. Last month, she called him a “homicidal maniac.” Lindsey previously made threats against Lebanon, Spain and Cuba, among others.
Even though she acknowledges the Republicans have made a faux pas or two, Megyn is urging Americans to remain loyal to them for now. The Democrats’ lack of support for border security is among the reasons she thinks things would be worse under them.
