Chris Pratt Recalls NSFW Kim Kardashian Joke From Parks & Rec Blooper

Chris Pratt discussed the NSFW Kim Kardashian joke from the Parks & Recreation blooper reel. The Marvel actor improvised on a joke about the SKIMS founder during the production of Parks and Recreation Season 4. He revealed it was part of an ad-libbing tradition that he hilariously called “Dark Parks” and requested showrunner Mike Schur not to put it on the DVD.

Chris Pratt recalled the time he made an inappropriate Kim Kardashian joke in a Parks and Rec blooper video. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the 46-year-old explained that actors often improvised on the written material, making up wild jokes, assuming it would never get released.

Pratt saw a photo from his Parks and Recreation days. A clip of him referencing Kardashian plays for a split second. In the clip, Ann Perkins (Rashida Jones) claimed that “Everyone loves a good comeback story.” To which Andy Dwyer (Pratt) replies, “Kim Kardashian,” followed by a sentence that included a beeped-out word, which was a subtle reference to the SKIMS founder’s infamous sex tape.

In the next instant, Pratt proceeded to explain, “So in Parks and Rec, we had this thing, kind of Dark Parks. It basically was when the whole cast thought, ‘We’re done, right? We can move on.’ We started improvising jokes that most certainly would never make the broadcast. It’s sort of a way to signal like, ‘I think we are all comfortable moving on, you know?’”

“Then at that point, we were all lobbying to get the best joke on the gag reel at the end,” the Avengers star continued. “They put together this gag reel of whatever jokes that could possibly never make it to the broadcast. I made a very off-color blue joke in this moment. I even remember talking to Mike Schur and saying, ‘Listen, that’s it. Please don’t put that on the DVD. Because I think it will go online and it will probably have legs because it has a very famous person in it. A person more famous than our show.’”

The Guardians of the Galaxy star recalled that Schur agreed and decided not to go ahead with the Kardashian NSFW joke. However, the clip still made it to the blooper reel.
