Halle Bailey’s son has changed her creative outlook on life, and it seems like she sees herself through the lens of motherhood, both as a woman and as an artist. During an appearance on “Live with Kelly and Mark,” Bailey opened up about how having her son, Halo, has changed the way she creates. She told the hosts that becoming a mom has deepened her emotions in a way that now reflects in her work. And the “The Little Mermaid” star calls this experience “crazy.”
Halle Bailey reveals how becoming a mom to son has changed her as a creative
During her conversation with Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, Halle Bailey opened up about how having a son brought a creative change in her life. When Ripa asked her how having a baby changed her as an artist, Bailey said, “It changes you so much because I feel like I feel things so much deeper now.”
She explained that this change is “a great recipe for creating and writing because you have so much more to talk about and a deeper sense of emotions, I think, to grasp on to.” Bailey further added, “I’ve never felt any love like this. It’s crazy.”
Since welcoming Halo Saint Granberry in December 2023, she has been vocal about how motherhood has opened something up in her emotionally. On The Jennifer Hudson Show in October 2025, she said, “I think my favorite thing is I feel like I’m learning so much from my child.” She admitted, “I think that I’m learning so much and also he’s bringing out the inner child in me every single day.”
But Bailey has also said, “You don’t do it alone.” She talked about feeling “grateful” for the “beautiful women in my life that surround me and lift me up and that are my village.” The singer-actor also added that raising a baby is “a village job.”
What comes through in all of Halle Bailey’s recent comments is that having a son has brought a change in everything creative, as well as the way she talks about herself.
