The time has come to exercise an amendment in the US. According to John Brennan, the 25th Amendment came into play if someone like Donald Trump was ever in power. That states that any President unfit to serve could have to leave office.
Trump has been under intense scrutiny for his actions in his second term. That includes his controversial war on Iran, plus his many social media rants, which many have deemed offensive. One of those posts said that an entire civilization would be no more. It’s for reasons like that which John believes swift action must happen against Donald.
John Brennan has called for President Trump’s removal
Talks of impeachment and exercizing the 25th amendment are being led by John, among others. In an interview on MS Now with Ali Velshi, the former CIA director had some harsh words for the President. “I think the 25th Amendment was written with Donald Trump in mind,” said John. The former security specialist says that allowing someone like Donald to continue as commander-in-chief could have catastrophic consequences. Under Donald, he believes that we are living in “very, very troubling times.”
John is among the many calling for that amendment to come into play. Another one seeking this is one of Trump’s former allies, Alex Jones. He recently said the President has “lost his mind.” Among the other prominent figures to ask for this are Marjorie Taylor Greene and Candace Owens.
John previously served as the CIA director during Barack Obama’s second term as President. He has long been an adversary of the POTUS, and he has also served as Secretary of Homeland Security in the past.
We have seen the 25th Amendment in use multiple times. Among the latest was in 2021, when Joe Biden briefly transferred power to Kamala Harris for close to 90 minutes during a medical procedure. That amendment was ratified and adopted in 1967.
