Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton criticized President Donald Trump’s recent social media activity during an appearance on MS NOW’s Morning Joe, according to The Hill.
Clinton told hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski that Trump should face accountability for his words. She described his recent posts as disgraceful and dangerous for an American president. Trump posted on Truth Social that a “whole civilization will die” in Iran without a deal. He also shared a now-deleted AI-generated image depicting himself as Jesus Christ on Orthodox Easter Sunday.
“Words, especially from an American president, have real consequences,” Clinton said on the program. She added that his posts amounted to “threatening civilizational genocide, threatening Pope Leo.” Clinton later wrote on X that “Trump has become fully unhinged and we should talk about it.”
Clinton also targeted the administration’s diplomatic approach to Iran negotiations during the interview. Vice President Vance, envoy Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner departed Pakistan without reaching a deal. Clinton argued that effective diplomacy requires sustained, disciplined effort rather than brief meetings.
“You don’t just show up in Geneva or Islamabad, talk for a bunch of hours, and go away,” Clinton stated. She called the administration’s reliance on the same three negotiators across multiple global crises “a joke.” Clinton specifically noted that Kushner and Witkoff handle Ukraine, Iran, and Gaza simultaneously.
Clinton further challenged Trump and Vance’s rhetoric about Western civilization during the segment. She argued Western civilization centers on holding leaders accountable and protecting democratic institutions. Multiple Democratic lawmakers called for Trump’s impeachment after his threat to Iran last week.
