Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise found themselves at the same venue this week, but managed to steer clear of any awkward encounters. Both stars attended CinemaCon 2026 at The Dolby Colosseum inside Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, where they appeared separately to promote upcoming projects. While there was no direct interaction between the former couple, their coordinated fashion choices didn’t go unnoticed.
Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise coincidentally matched in all-black looks at CinemaCon 2026
Both Kidman and Cruise opted for all-black ensembles. Cruise kept it classic in a tailored black suit, while Kidman turned heads in a sleek silk dress. She completed her look with black pumps, adding to her already statuesque presence. The Australian actress styled her blonde hair in soft waves, parted down the middle.
Despite attending the same high-profile event, the former spouses who were married from 1990 to 2001, did not appear together at any point. They also avoided posing for photographs as a pair, instead focusing on their respective appearances on stage.
Cruise joined filmmaker Alejandro G. Iñárritu to debut a first look at their upcoming dark comedy Digger. In the film, Cruise plays oil tycoon Digger Rockwell, whose actions trigger a major environmental disaster.
Meanwhile, Kidman reunited with Sandra Bullock to present footage from the sequel to Practical Magic. The follow-up to the 1998 film is slated for release on September 11 and is directed by Susanne Bier.
Kidman and Cruise shared two adopted children from their 11-year marriage. One of Kidman’s most talked-about comments came during an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman, when she quipped about her divorce: “Well, I can wear heels now.”
Years later, she reflected on that period as a challenging time in her life, noting she was still processing the separation when she won her first Academy Award in 2003 for The Hours. At CinemaCon, however, both actors kept the spotlight mainly on their work.
