Donald Trump Has Bizarre Theory About Diet Coke, Dr. Oz Reveals

President Donald Trump has long embraced an unconventional approach to health and nutrition, but a newly revealed theory about his beloved Diet Coke takes that reputation to another level. Dr. Mehmet Oz, the television personality turned Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Administrator, has shared the theory.

According to Dr. Oz, Donald Trump believes his fizzy beverage of choice might actually help ward off cancer. He shared the anecdote on Donald Trump Jr.’s Triggered podcast, describing the awkward moments when he and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. attempted to steer the president toward healthier choices.

The medical community widely regards diet soda as an unhealthy option, with research linking it to weight gain and insulin resistance that can lead to Type 2 diabetes. Both Kennedy and Oz have made themselves leading voices in the Make America Healthy Again movement, urging Americans to abandon processed foods.

Despite their best efforts, Trump reportedly remains defiantly committed to his Diet Coke. Dr. Oz explained that the president enjoys showing off his candy collection and pressing a red button in the Oval Office to summon a Diet Coke during meetings. Their advocacy appears to have made zero impact on Trump’s personal consumption. “We were on Air Force One the other day, and I walk in there because he wants to talk about something, and he’s got an orange soft drink on his desk,” Oz recounted, identifying the drink as Fanta. “I said, ‘Are you kidding me?'”

Trump’s response caught the heart surgeon off guard. “So he starts to sheepishly grin. He goes, ‘You know, this stuff is good for me, it kills cancer cells.’ Then he tells me, ‘It’s fresh squeezed, so how bad could it be for you?'” Donald Trump Jr. laughed at the theory but defended his father’s energy levels for a man nearing 80. Oz ultimately conceded that Trump appears remarkably healthy, referencing a physical examination he conducted during the 2016 campaign.
