Cardi B donned a black leather Maximilian Gedra skirt featuring two risky high slits at a Little Miss Drama tour concert. Her outfit blended high-fashion avant-garde with dark, dramatic themes. On April 17, the House’s official Instagram account posted some snaps and videos of the rapper in the ensemble.
Cardi B models Maximilian Gedra high slit skirt with bodysuit for Little Miss Drama tour
Cardi B channelled gothic warrior aesthetics in her Maximilian Gedra outfit. Constructed with two large, full-height panels, the custom floor-length skirt opened up to reveal her legs. These split panels were held together solely by intricate, tight corset-style black cord lacing, which created a structured ladder effect from the high waist down to the hem. This lacing acted as the central vertical design element, adding structural complexity to the rigid leather.
While the leather panels are stiff and hold a conical, bell-like shape, the laced slits were functional. They allowed the songstress to step and perform without the non-stretch material’s restriction. Every time she moved, the structure of the laced panels emphasised the volume of the hem as it billowed around her feet. Further, the bright stage lights enhanced the subtle, reflective sheen of the textured leather.
Styled by longtime collaborator, stylist Kollin Carter, the “Bodak Yellow” singer paired it with a matching bodysuit, which included a hood. Further, she accessorised with exaggerated flared leather gloves. It had similar lace-up detail to her skirt and bodysuit. The ensemble as a whole almost made her look like a medieval figure.
Cardi B kept her accessories minimal to maintain the focus on her outfit. The fingerless gloves gave a glimpse of the dark manicure she was sporting. She wore her black hair in waves in some clips and put on a blonde wig with dark tips in others. Meanwhile, her makeup was understated. Also, it featured a brown-lined glossy pink lip and black eyeliner.
