Fans of Sabrina Carpenter are absolutely losing their minds over the rediscovery that she once appeared in Orange Is the New Black. The hit show ran for seven seasons from 2013 to 2019 and followed inmates at a women’s federal prison. So, what was Sabrina’s role?

For lack of a better world, a 12-year-old Sabrina played a bully in Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black. In a clip on social media, her character (Jessica Wedge) makes fun of Alex Vause in a flashback scene. The clip is from Season 1, Episode 9, titled: F*cksgiving.
“My boyfriend and I were watching OITNB and GASPED when we saw her,” X user @DLMBTLTKfan posted after finding out about Sabrina’s role in the show. “I KNEW I knew her from somewhere else,” @StevenCopp added of the discovery.
“She’s lived so many lives,” said @rockwithqueen. “I actually had no idea she was in that,” shared @MovieMedia.
Others commented on how well Sabrina – who just played at Coachella alongside Madonna – could play such a nasty role. “Damn, what a little asshole she played,” said @jackalter. Meanwhile, @talytokkiz said: “She’s playing that mean girl role a little too well.”
But, perhaps Sabrina’s role in Orange Is the New Black shouldn’t come as such a massive surprise. Before becoming the musical artist she’s known as today, she had a string of TV appearances and actually started out as a Disney actor.
She landed her first on-screen role in 2011 in Law & Order: SVU, and later went on to star as Maya Hart on Disney’s Girl Meets World. Sabrina then signed to Hollywood Records in 2014 and released her debut EP, Can’t Blame a Girl for Trying.
