The panelists on The View have no desire to see Donald Trump up close. The White House Correspondents Dinner later this month will mark the first hosted by the President since winning a second term.
While they aren’t discouraging others to attend, it’s not an event the ladies of The View want to be a part of. The hosts have shared their issues with Trump and don’t care to see him in a different light than what they’re used to.
President Trump is like “having a cannibal host a vegan event”
Going to this year’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner will be a hard no for those at The View. On Friday’s show, Ana Navarro said that Trump speaking at this event “is like having a cannibal host a vegan event.” Ana adds that “there is no way in hell I would normalize Donald Trump’s presence by showing up.” As a Latina immigrant, she says that she’s disgusted by how Latin people have been treated in her eyes.
Since his 2025 inauguration, Trump has rarely received praise from those on The View; in fact, quite the contrary. Ana has been among those blasting him on numerous shows. In January, she wondered if the POTUS was “insane or senile.” This came after Trump shared his belief that he was cheated out of winning the 2020 election.
While Trump will be on hand for the event, reports indicate he won’t be there for the entire festivities. Those on The View see this as hugely disrespectful. While none of them are enthused about this year’s dinner, they acknowledge that there are great causes at the event. Alyssa Farah Griffin encourages journalists to attend to benefit the White House Correspondents Association.
On the big night journalist Kaitlan Collins will be honored. This year’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner takes place on April 25 at the Washington Hilton Hotel.
