Hours after publicly announcing her breakup with Klay Thompson, Megan Thee Stallion took the stage for a “Moulin Rouge” Broadway performance, after which she cried in front of her audience. The Grammy-winning rapper has been guest-starring as Harold Zidler in “Moulin Rouge! The Musical.” She got visibly emotional onstage on Saturday night as the crowd applauded her at the end of the show. This moment came after Megan accused Thompson of infidelity.
Megan Thee Stallion breaks down in tears during ‘Moulin Rouge!’ performance
Just a couple of hours after her breakup with NBA star Klay Thompson turned messy, Megan Thee Stallion cried after her “Moulin Rouge” performance. On Instagram, Megan accused Thompson of cheating and said that the relationship had worn her down during the basketball season.
In a now-viral video, the rapper wiped her eyes while the audience gave her a standing ovation, and a fan yelled, “We love you!” as she turned away, trying to calm herself down before leaving the stage. Fellow stars immediately supported Megan after the video went viral.
WNBA player Angel Reese wrote, “It’s the way you show up even while carrying so much—that’s what makes you THAT girl,” adding, “You always have a little sister riding for you at dawn. I love you, sister.” Moreover, rapper Monaleo said, “Just a girl carrying the weight of the world. We love you Meg even on your darkest of days, don’t you ever forget it!”
In a statement to Page Six, Megan said that she ended the relationship herself. She allegedly told the outlet, “Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward. I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity.”
The former couple first sparked dating rumors in July 2025, making their red carpet debut that same month at her Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala in New York City.
Now, Megan Thee Stallion’s Broadway footage from the “Moulin Rouge” performance captured her as a performer showing up to work even as she cried after a seemingly painful breakup with Klay Thompson.
