Stephen King is throwing shade at the President. Donald Trump was furious when Jimmy Kimmel poked fun at the White House Correspondents’ gala last week on his show. The late-night comedian said the President’s wife, Melania, would be “an expectant widow.”
Trump didn’t take kindly to the segment, calling it in poor taste days before the gala online. Stephen, however, pointed out how the POTUS has not always been so kind himself in the face of tragedy. “People who live in glass houses should’t throw s*it,” said the author online.
Stephen King responds after Trump calls ABC to fire Jimmy Kimmel
“You reap what you sow seems to be what Stephen is indirectly telling Donald Trump. The author of The Shining fired back at Trump for expressing his disgust with Jimmy. On X/Twitter, the horror writer noted that when former FBI Director Robert Mueller died, the President said, “Good I’m glad he’s dead.” “Said Pretty much the same about my old friend Rob Reiner,” noted Stephen. The President called the late Hollywood actor and director a delusional person. Rob was stabbed to death along with his wife, Michele, in December.
Trump has had it out for Jimmy, it seems, for months, and his White House Correspondents segment may have been the last straw. On Truth Social, he said Jimmy should be fired. Jimmy, though, refused to apologize despite the backlash. Melania called him a “coward” for the segment.
Stephen is one of many people coming to Jimmy’s defence in this matter. George Clooney believed that the comedian’s joke was harmless. Mehdi Hasan, Loni Love, and David Axelrod are among those who believe the President is overreacting to this.
Jimmy was previously suspended by ABC for controversial comments made in September. It came in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s assassination. After a short hiatus, Jimmy Kimmel Live! went back on the air.
