Chris Brown Comments on Alleged Shooting Near His LA Home — Report

Chris Brown found himself trending for unexpected reasons after reports surfaced about a shooting near his Los Angeles home. While initial headlines sparked concern, new details quickly clarified the situation. Authorities confirmed an incident did occur nearby, but Brown has since spoken out, pushing back against claims linking him directly to it.

The situation unfolded in the Tarzana neighborhood, where police responded to a call about a shooting on Friday afternoon (via TMZ). According to officials, a suspect allegedly used a CO2-style handgun during an altercation and fired at a vehicle. The man, identified as 35-year-old Markeith Cungious, was later arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon (via Entertainment Weekly).

Law enforcement clarified that the weapon involved was not a traditional firearm but an air-powered device. Officers arrived around 4.11 p.m., spoke to both parties, and took the suspect into custody at the scene. Reports say the argument began after the suspect asked a woman to leave the area, and tensions escalated from there.

Pushing back on the noise, Chris Brown firmly denied any link to the situation, even though it was connected to his residence. He reportedly brushed off the allegations as “total BS,” saying he was at home the “whole time” and didn’t hear a single gunshot or police siren. He also made it clear that people should stop dragging his name into the incident without any solid facts.

Authorities echoed that sentiment, noting the incident happened on the street outside the property and not inside his home. They also confirmed Brown was not connected to the case in any way beyond the reported location. The suspect was booked and later released on bond.

The news comes as Brown gears up for a busy period professionally. He recently dropped a new music video for his single “Fallin’” and is preparing for a co-headlining tour alongside Usher. Despite the noise around the incident, his focus appears to remain firmly on music and upcoming projects.
